There several ways in to this area of Banff National Park including Healy Pass, Redearth Creek, Twin Lakes/Shadow Lake and Kootenay National Park. I'm not going to say which might be better as I have not done all of these. It depends on your how much you want to hike and how long you want to spend. There are countless options for different styles of trips and several campgrounds to stay. The most notable or popular being Egypt Lake campground and shelter.

Egypt Lake Alberta
Marmot in Banff

This area of Banff is full of beautiful lakes, streams, mountains, wildlife and forest. Most notable are the large amounts of marmots that I saw in the passes, the beautiful wildflowers and larch trees plus most of the lakes are good for some fishing. Campgrounds can get booked up on weekends the most popular being Egypt Lake, Shadow Lake and Twin Lakes. All of which I would recommend a stay at. Egypt Lake would be the loop heading to Natalko (Talc) lake and then following the unofficial route to Mummy Lake, then on to Scarab Lake and back. A hike up to Pharaoh, Black Rock and Sphinx Lake would also be worthwhile.
