Memorial Lakes

Postby dalm » Thu Jun 25, 2009 8:16 am

Did the hike up to the Memorial Lakes last weekend. It was a fairly easy hike up to the first lake, and the trail was dry and in good shape. Had to give up trying to make it to the second lake, its a pretty hard climb. Now that I know what to expect I will be better prepared and tackle this is the future.

The water was really clear but I did not see any fish, I'm thinking the lake is to shallow to hold any.
We made it to the 1st lake in 2.5 hrs and this included taking a few breaks.
Up to the 2nd lake is really a scramble on loose scree, its gonna take a lot of effort.

Where are Memorial Lakes exactly? I couldn't find them in the index of my Backroad Mapbooks.

To get to Memorial lakes you start at the Ribbon falls trail and after about 40 min you come to a cairn on your right hand side and just follow the trail. It is pretty well marked.
