No problem at all. I have a 12 year old I just don't think he wants to go.

Great. Fishing - particularily alpine lakes - is my passion as such. Have to pack as much of it as possible into my summer. Any idea possible dates? I'll see if I can commit to any. Can you get to Owl in a day even with a 30 pound pack? Seems possible as my maps show neglidable altitude gain until you branch off the Bryant Creek Trail onto the Marvel Pass Trail. The are from the end of the mount shark road on is pretty flat, though I hear it can rather wet.

...hey all...I hit Owl for opening day on the 7th and I didn't even see a fish...I am sure others have this place dialed...but I didn't see one riser...I fly fish the Kananaskis Lakes all the time and I was super-pumped to catch some nice brookies...fished chronnies and wooly buggers and zilch...maybe it was an off day???? beautiful lake!

Wow, I'm surprised you caught nothing. I didn't see any rising when I was there but the fishing was great using spinners last august. I love this lake and want to head back sometime later but it probably won't be until next season. Hope nothing adverse has happened to it.

Thanks admin..you made feel better about my trip in coming up..
By the way there are a few fish in Commonwealth but not many and not really worth another trip at least for a few years.

I was at Owl Lake this weekend and it was as good as it was last year. Plenty of action and big fish. Not sure about the earlier season action you guys had there but I have been in both August and now September. I won't be changing my original report on this lake.
